Well met, traveler! I’m Mikayla: an avid supporter of all things chaotically creative and a child of sunshine! It’s a mighty beautiful world we inhabit, and there are so many ways to appreciate it, I can’t help but dabble in it all: music, art, photography, herbalism, gardening, and more!

My journey with music goes back to before I could form solid memories. Growing up, my family’s language was comprised of melodies and rhythms, and singing was how we loved to spend time together. I survived two degrees studying classical music and opera, and that process is what led me to songwriting. My first song was written in the fall of 2021, in Desoto state park on a family camping trip, and despite my belief that it would be a singular occurrence, once I started writing, I just couldn’t stop. My inspiration comes from all around me: nature, my family, books, mythology, or whispers of vague ideas that tiptoe in when I’m trying to sleep.

Among some of my musical heroes are John Denver, Dolly Parton, Franz Schubert, Don McLean, and Dodie. They are masters of storytelling and making magic with their music.
